Unfortunately it is very hard to date Cleopatra's as they did not have hull numbers. Have a look behind some panels in your boat, I found one with 850/138 written on it, 138 being the build number making her approx 1975ish. Louis

Hello Voyager,
Like my friends above said, a warm welcome to our site. I feel it my mission to get and to keep our Owners Data Base as complete as possible. So, in short I will send you a "Welcome Note "together with a kind of questionaire. I hope you complete the list and return it to me. After some time you will see that your name etc is put into that Owner Data Base. Indeed it is hard to find an identification about when your 850 was born. And sometimes it turns out that it is a Cleopatra 26. But that you can only see when the boat is out of the water. Regards, Rinus Done by Rinus, owner of Waterman, a Cleo 850 The Netherlands |

RE: new member
Hi Billy,]
To my opnoin it is a Cleopatra 26. There is not much difference between a 850 and a 26. It is the underwatership. The 26 has a soft chine, and the 850 has a hard chine. This means that the underwatership is more or less rounded under the water. It is curved at the 26. But the 850 has more or less sharp edges at the bottum. It also means that the 850 is a bit bumpy when the water is a bit rough. The 26 react more soft then. I guess that explains the difference : soft chine versus hard chine. The other differences are minor. See the chaper history in the Gallery, and look for the 26 and the 850. It was about 1972 that the 850 was born. RE: new member
Wow that is quite a project you have there! What state are the engines/outdrives in? Like Rinus said you have a round bilge (soft chine) 850 or 26.
- Rinus, didn't the 26 have different windows? My Project: Cleopatra 850 "Morning Ebb" - Twin Volvo Petrols Who needs money anyway??
