I have a Cleopatra 850 named Morning Ebb. She has the twin Volvo Penta AQ130 Petrols, on Volvo 270 Outdrives. I will use this thread to keep you all up to date with my project!
So far, there is a lot that needs doing. Everything is pretty much there, but it a lot needs repairing or replacing. Both engines are in place, and are complete. I have been told they are both good runners and have recently been rebuilt, but time will see. Currently they do not run as there is no wiring to them. Both Outdrives appear to be in good condition having just had replacement bellows etc. She currently only has one fuel tank, starboard side. Port side tank is missing and so is the water tank unfortunately, so they need replacing. I think I will get her running with one tank to start with, but keep my eyes open for a matching pair of tanks, maybe of a lorry of something. On the electrics, there is some present, but it looks pretty dodgy, and some of the 12Volt lights are running off household 240 cable!!! All this is being ripped out and replaced. Some lights are being kept, others are being replaced. There is no Nav/Radio gear so all this will need to be purchased. I will also install a 240 system. Carpets, Curtains and Seating are all there and are OK, but will need replacing for cosmetic reasons. Not top of the list just yet though. Same with the woodwork, its all there but a bit will need replacing at some point in the future. Pictures will follow!!

Hi Louis,
You are a wizzard!. Well done with the pictures!. We have again a good forum, enough possibilities to communicate. You did not encounter difficulties in putting the pictures in. Will give it a try too. Regards, Rinus Done by Rinus, owner of Waterman, a Cleo 850 The Netherlands |

RE: My Cleopatra 850 "Morning Ebb" Project
Nope, didnt have any difficulties getting the pictures in! In fact I am finding this forum much better than the old one
![]() *Excuse the state of the antifoul on the last pic, it was only a quick go as its all coming off soon when I repaint the hull! The prevous owner decided it would be a good idea to antifoul waaaay above the waterline, which imo doesnt look too good! Hi Louis
When I put in a new 'water tank' I used one of the 'flexible bag type', it was the only way of installing a decent capacity tank without drastic surgery. |

RE: My Cleopatra 850 "Morning Ebb" Project
Thanks Ron, I was also looking into fitting a flexible bag type. They look really easy to fit, where did you put yours? I think there supposed to be under the rear of the saloon floor?

RE: My Cleopatra 850 "Morning Ebb" Project
Louis I fitted some slats of 1/2" ply together in the hold under the wheelhouse on the starboard side and secured it to that, its been in there 5 years now. 'Madison Blue' only has a single engine and the fuel tank is on the port side so it sits pretty square on the water.

RE: My Cleopatra 850 "Morning Ebb" Project
Ah yes, I see. There is loads of room under there. I will eventually have twin tanks, so might mount mine in the middle, at the back so I don't get a list when full of water.
